Gendai Reiki incorporates traditional Japanese Reikiho, as taught by Mikao Usui with western techniques. It can be used for self or healing of others.
In the spirit of Usui Sensei, Gendai Reikiho embraces purification, a return to wholeness, of the mind and body. The sense of Oneness, of which we have glimpses, is a taste of this pure state.
The first stage of Reikiho training is hand healing (dento Reikiho).
Gendai Reikiho has no religious persuasion.
She first began practicing and teaching as an Usui Shiki Ryoho Master in 1993.
In 2002 Karen undertook Gendai Reiki training with Hiroshi Doi Sensei in Kyoto, Japan and has practiced and taught this method in Australia since that time. Karen also offers Deepening your Practice workshops for students who wish to advance their practice beyond their initial training.
Gendai Reikho is the system of Reiki that was developed by Hiroshi Doi Sensei.
Hiroshi Doi Sensei, is the president of the Gendai Reiki Healing Association, and a member of the Usui Ryoho Gakkai, the original association formed by Usui Sensei in 1922.
Doi Sensei says,
“Gendai Reikiho is not a new school of Reiki, but a new way to practice Reiki.
It does not put forth newly developed techniques or lofty theories, and its objective is not the discussion of Usui Sensei as a person or the history of Reiki Ryoho.
Gendai Reikiho is devoted to Usui Sensei’s spirit. It aims at enjoying Reiki’s benefit by practicing Usui Sensei’s teachings in a simple way, in daily life.
As it is shown in the Five Precepts, Reiki Ryoho is nothing less than a way to health and happiness.”
